Job DetailsKey Responsibilities and Duties
- Review customer specifications and RFQs for custom medium- and high-voltage equipment
- Prepare detailed technical and commercial quotations for custom switchgear, modular substations, neutral reactors, current-limiting reactors, and specialty transformers
- Interpret one-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical drawings
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop accurate cost estimates and project timelines
- Provide technical clarification and support to customers throughout the quoting process
- Assist with bid responses and proposal preparation
- Support sales growth initiatives while maintaining target margins
- Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, and other applicable electrical standards
- Work closely with leadership to refine pricing strategy and technical positioning
You should have most of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, switchgear, substations, or related medium/high-voltage equipment
- Strong background in medium- and high-voltage power systems and custom-engineered electrical products
- Experience interpreting one-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications
- Strong understanding of NEC, IEEE, and applicable electrical standards
- Experience with build-to-spec or engineered-to-order equipment
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer-facing technical discussions
- Experience in quoting or estimating engineered electrical equipment
- Familiarity with utility, mining, or industrial power applications
