Rust Engineer

Position: Backend Rust Engineer
Location:100% Remote
Duration: Long Terms Contract 
Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Rust Engineer to join an integrated engineering team supporting. This is an opportunity to build backend technology that supports the automated movement and orchestration of vehicles within manufacturing facilities. You will work on highly available, low-latency services that process real-time vehicle and operational data while supporting plant routing, system controls, user access, alerting, and safety-critical workflows.

Required Skills:

• Senior-level experience designing and delivering production backend systems.
• Strong professional development experience with Rust.
• Advanced knowledge of Rust concepts, including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, memory safety, concurrency, and error handling.
• Experience with asynchronous Rust and event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing scalable microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, messaging, streaming, and real-time communication patterns.
• Experience designing secure REST APIs and streaming interfaces.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput ingestion or telemetry-processing services.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, role-based access control, secrets management, and secure session handling.
• Experience implementing logging, metrics, distributed tracing, health checks, retries, timeouts, and failure recovery.
• Strong automated testing and performance-testing practices.
• Ability to investigate complex issues across application, API, database, network, and distributed-system layers.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a distributed engineering team.
