Job Title: Azure Engineer (PaaS / Disaster Recovery / Microsoft DevOps)
Location: Hybrid Lakewood, NJ (On-site one day per week, preferably Wednesday)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure Engineer with a strong background in Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions, disaster recovery planning, and Microsoft DevOps to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud environments while ensuring business continuity and operational excellence.
This position begins as a 6-month contract with the strong intent to convert to a full-time role. The role offers a hybrid schedule, with one day per week (preferably Wednesday) onsite in our Lakewood, NJ office.
Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage Azure PaaS services and infrastructure components.

Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for cloud environments.

Integrate and automate CI/CD pipelines using Microsoft DevOps (Azure DevOps).

Monitor and optimize Azure resources for performance, security, and cost efficiency.

Collaborate with application development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and resilience.

Troubleshoot and resolve Azure-related technical issues in production and development environments.

Provide documentation, guidance, and best practices for cloud architecture and DevOps processes.
Required Qualifications

5 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering or a related technical field.

Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure, including PaaS offerings (App Services, Azure SQL, Functions, AKS, etc.).

Proven experience designing and implementing disaster recovery and failover strategies.

Proficiency in Microsoft DevOps (Azure DevOps) for CI/CD, build/release pipelines, and infrastructure as code (IaC).

Working knowledge of PowerShell, ARM/Bicep templates, or Terraform.

Familiarity with networking, identity, and security in Azure environments.

Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or similar certification.

Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and monitoring tools (App Insights, Log Analytics).

Background in governance, compliance, or cost optimization for enterprise cloud environments.
