Job Description
The Client is seeking an experienced Project Estimator to support mining, construction, and Oil & Gas related projects. The Project Estimator will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for capital and operational projects, using industry-standard estimating tools and methodologies.
This is a remote position, requiring strong collaboration with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mining, construction, and Oil & Gas projects
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates using RSMeans
- Analyze drawings, specifications, scope documents, and schedules
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
- Support project budgeting, cost control, and change management
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids and proposals
- Identify cost risks, assumptions, and opportunities for optimization
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to validate estimates
- Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking for future projects
Required Qualifications
- 5+ Years - Proven experience as a Project Estimator in Mining and Construction environments
- Experience supporting Oil & Gas projects is a strong plus
- Hands-on experience with RSMeans estimating tools
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and cost drivers
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Proficiency in Excel and cost estimating software
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Mining, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
