CMK Resources is seeking a Senior NVMe Storage Engineer to serve as a resident, embedded expert supporting a high-performance Linux and Oracle infrastructure leveraging NVMe-over-TCP and Pure Storage platforms. This is a hands-on, scripting-heavy role focused on storage pathing, performance optimization, and automation—not general Linux administration.
You’ll partner closely with senior Linux platform teams to deliver mission-critical improvements in IO performance and automation workflows in complex production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, validate, tune, and troubleshoot NVMe-over-TCP paths
- Perform multipath tuning, I/O scheduler optimization, and latency analysis
- Build automation scripts in Bash, Python, or Ansible for storage discovery, validation, multi-pathing and system tuning
- Build Linux automation for storage pre-checks, connectivity testing, mounting/unmounting, and system tuning
- Support Oracle infrastructure alignment (ASM, RAC, multipath)
- Work across Dev, QA, and production environments to test and stabilize high-performance workloads
Contribute to CI/CD automation, leveraging Azure DevOps, Git, and ServiceNow workflows - Collaborate with SAN/storage teams to triage and resolve performance issues
Must-Have Expertise:
- NVMe-over-TCP (production-grade experience)
- nvme-cli, multipath configuration, queue depth tuning
- I/O performance troubleshooting and baselining (fio, iostat, sar, perf)
- NIC offloading concepts, PFC/ECN understanding
- Bash scripting (strong)
- Python and/or Ansible (moderate to strong)
- Git, Azure DevOps Boards, ServiceNow workflows
- Experience supporting customers in large enterprise Linux production environments
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to Oracle storage environments (ASM, RAC, multipath IO dependencies)
- CPU pinning, high-speed fabric tuning
- Experience contributing to Ansible playbooks or existing automation frameworks
- Pure Storage FlashArray experience
- Red Hat Linux systems administration
Preferred Locations - Remote candidates considered with occasional travel as needed to the following areas.
- Jersey City, NJ (preferred)
- Wilmington, DE
- Alpharetta, GA
- Omaha, NE
- Fort Lauderdale, FL
Ideal Candidate:
You're a hands-on engineer with strong storage automation skills and deep tuning experience. You thrive in fast-paced, production-critical environments and can confidently collaborate with senior infrastructure, storage, and automation teams.
You don't just configure systems—you optimize them, automate them, and make them more resilient.
