Senior Security / SIEM Engineer - PT Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to lead the implmentation of CrowdStrike NG-SIEM. This opportunity is part-time, 15-20 hours/week, remote.

Summary:
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the deployment and run with the implementation with minimal direction. The Senior Security/SIEM Engineer will have support from our Network and System Engineering teams but will be responsible for driving the SIEM onboarding and configuration work end-to-end.

Responsibilities include:
* Implementing and configuring CrowdStrike NG-SIEM
* Onboarding and normalizing log sources across the environment
* Building ingestion pipelines, parsers, and detection rules
* Coordinating with internal infrastructure teams to onboard systems and logging sources

The environment includes logging from:
* Linux systems (syslog/audit logs)
* Windows systems (event logs/forwarding)
* Cisco network devices
* AWS services (CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, GuardDuty, CloudWatch logs)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands-on experience implementing CrowdStrike NG-SIEM or Falcon LogScale
* Strong SIEM engineering background (log ingestion, normalization, detection engineering)
* Experience onboarding log sources from Linux, Windows, network devices, and AWS
* Ability to work independently and own the implementation effort

Preferred Skills:
* Falcon LogScale/Humio experience
* Detection engineering or threat detection development
* MITRE ATT&CK familiarity
* Experience building SIEM parsers or ingestion pipelines
* Scripting ability (Python, Bash, or similar)
* Infrastructure logging architecture design
* Experience with AWS logging services (CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, GuardDuty)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
