Location: New York, NY – Onsite, 5 days per week

W2 Hourly Rate: $48 – $50/hour

Overview
We are seeking a .NET Developer to support application development and the controlled decommissioning of a legacy .NET application and its related services, databases, and infrastructure. The role will focus primarily on developing and maintaining .NET applications while also supporting system retirement, data archival or migration, integrations, testing, deployment, and technical support.
Duties
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications using ASP.NET, Web Forms, Entity Framework, and Web APIs.
- Build and support web services, application integrations, and related system enhancements.
- Support application development activities representing approximately 60% of the role.
- Support application decommissioning activities representing approximately 40% of the role.
- Perform system inventory, dependency mapping, and impact analysis across application integrations.
- Decommission Java-based application code, APIs, batch processes, databases, services, middleware, infrastructure, and third-party components.
- Perform data extraction, archival, and/or migration in accordance with applicable retention requirements.
- Validate migrated and archived data to ensure data integrity.
- Perform testing, deployment, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and ongoing technical support.
- Create and maintain application reports using SSRS and Crystal Reports.
- Implement application authentication, authorization, and role-based security.
- Prepare decommissioning plans, runbooks, validation reports, technical design documents, code artifacts, test results, and deployment documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical and non-technical teams.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Strong experience with C# backend development.
- Proven experience with ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Web Forms.
- Hands-on experience with .NET Core.
- Experience with Entity Framework Core or Entity Framework 6, including Code First or Database First development, LINQ, migrations, query optimization, and complex data relationships.
- Experience with SQL Server 2019, including database design, optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API.
- Hands-on experience with SOAP web services, WSDL, and XML-based services.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript ES6+.
- In-depth experience developing Single Page Applications using Angular 8, including components, directives, services, and routing.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Crystal Reports.
- Solid understanding of Model-View-Controller architecture and common design patterns, including Repository, Factory, and Singleton patterns.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks such as XUnit, MSTest, or NUnit and familiarity with Test-Driven Development practices.
- Proficiency using Git for version control and team collaboration.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or comparable tools.
- Experience implementing authentication and authorization using OAuth, JWT, and role-based access control.
- Experience supporting application decommissioning, including system inventory, dependency mapping, impact analysis, and controlled retirement of application components.
- Experience with data extraction, archival, migration, and validation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Associate’s degree or combination of experience and education.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
- Experience optimizing frontend, backend, and database performance.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with .NET 6+.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure.
- Experience with React or Vue.
- Experience with NoSQL and MongoDB.
