Chemist - I (Assistant)

ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Chemist - I (Assistant) for an on-site, 9+ month contract position with a Pharmaceutical Company located in Wilson, NC.

Summary:
This role will focus on routine laboratory testing and documentation within a GMP-compliant environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for dissolution, assay, content uniformity, and identity testing utilizing equipment such as HPLC, FTIR, and dissolution apparatus.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine laboratory dissolution, assay/degradation, content uniformity, and identity testing and documentation in a GMP laboratory
• Enter data into Labware
• Participate in investigation meetings and some drafting of investigations
• Peer review of laboratory data
• Troubleshoot simple instrumentation issues
• Participate in the daily tier process

Requirements:

• B.S. degree (preferably in Chemistry or Biology, will look at Engineering if applicable)
• Minimum of 2-3 years industry experience required
• Experience operating laboratory equipment: HPLC, dissolution apparatus, FTIR, NIR, etc
• Experience utilizing Empower
• Experience utilizing Labware/LIMS
• Knowledge of regulatory and cGMP principles

Desired skills:

• Experience performing peer review of GMP Analytical Laboratory Data
• Background in technical writing including but not limited to: updating of standard operating procedures and writing quality notifications
• Knowledge of Tier processes
• Experience executing 5S principals
• Understanding of root cause analysis principals
• LabX experience would be beneficial

Pay range: up to $28.06 per hour
