Role Overview

Provide operational leadership for enterprise storage and backup platforms supporting hybrid and cloud-enabled environments. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, highly available, and compliant data protection solutions while serving as a technical lead within a mission-critical organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of enterprise backup and storage platforms, including hybrid-cloud data protection solutions, SAN/NAS technologies, and software-defined storage.
  • Design, implement, and sustain secure storage and backup environments aligned with DoD security standards and regulatory requirements (including STIGs and FIPS).
  • Develop and maintain automation for monitoring, maintenance, and routine operational tasks to support 24x7 availability and rapid incident response.
  • Partner with engineering, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders to execute disaster recovery strategies and continuity of operations plans.
  • Lead capacity forecasting, system lifecycle management, and configuration changes in accordance with ITIL/ITSM best practices.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for storage and backup-related issues and initiatives.

Technologies & Environment

  • Enterprise Backup & Storage: NetBackup, Dell Unity, NetApp SAN/NAS
  • Networking & Virtualization: Cisco MDS, Brocade Fibre Channel, VMware vSAN, NSX-T
  • Operations & Monitoring: vRealize Operations
  • Additional Capabilities: Tape library management, hybrid-cloud integration, automation and scripting
  • Work Methodologies: Agile and traditional project delivery models

Clearance & Certifications

  • Active SECRET security clearance
  • IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)

Required Skills

  • Enterprise storage architecture and operations
  • NetApp SAN/NAS platforms
  • Backup and recovery solutions (NetBackup preferred)
  • Disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Cloud storage experience (Azure and/or AWS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of IT experience, or Master's degree with 10+ years of experience
  • Strong in disaster recovery and data protection in classified or regulated environments
  • Experience supporting or interfacing with government customers and contractor teams
  • Ability to operate independently as the technical authority on the team

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56.20 - $80.29/hr.
