Job Title:

NPI Engineering Project Coordinator

Job Description:

The Role
This role serves as a cross-functional integrator for new product releases within Chaska development and operations. This coordinator/expeditor proactively connects engineering, tooling, quality, planning, and operations to surface risks early, resolve ambiguity, and prevent handoff delays. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration, informal influence, basic technical understanding, and the ability to drive clarity when information is incomplete.

What You'll Do
  • Actively manage the status of work orders by engaging stakeholders across functions, validating assumptions, and ensuring shared understanding of priorities and next steps.
  • Identify, diagnose, and work through issues causing delays, including unclear requirements, ownership gaps, staffing constraints, material shortages, or equipment availability, and escalating only after driving cross-functional discussion and alignment.
  • Provide updated timelines/schedules for the high priority projects
  • Facilitate ongoing cross-functional communication to break down information silos, anticipate downstream impacts, and enable proactive planning and scheduling decisions.
  • Proactively pull together the right technical experts to troubleshoot tooling, sampling, or quality issues, especially when details are ambiguous or requirements are still evolving.
  • Regular review of portfolio with leadership team to update project list and align on scope of role.
  • Own and maintain the visual board as the single source of truth, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and framed to support cross-functional decision-making and leadership discussions.
  • Identify and escalate systematic improvements to automate/facilitate tasks currently requiring manual intervention and execution.

What We Seek
  • Working knowledge of the tooling-sampling-QA cycles for new molded products
  • Experience working with planning/scheduling, operations, and new product development organizations
  • Basic understanding of injection molded products and processes a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and navigate competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with comfort operating in situations where details are incomplete or evolving
  • Ability to influence without formal authority and facilitate productive conversations between technical and operational teams
  • Proactive mindset with willingness to challenge assumptions and surface risks early
