3) have the Minimum Required Experience

Primary Work: Serve as the Decision Support Specialist (Data Visualizer)Data Analyst for the Department to support data visualization and analysis needs. 

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science, Information Science, or other Information Technology major, or equivalent work experience.

Required Tasks to be performed:
􀁸 Develop visually appealing, intuitive, user friendly, and insightful Qlik Cloud dashboards and reports
􀁸 Advise program areas on which visualizations and analyses would best help them achieve their goals
􀁸 Collaborate with data engineers and others to gather and clean data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
􀁸 Use statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
􀁸 Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
􀁸 Work collaboratively with program areas to identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure progress toward goals
􀁸 Collaborate with data engineers and others to optimize data collection, storage, and retrieval processes
􀁸 Monitor data quality to identify data issues and propose data cleansing or enhancement solutions
􀁸 Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis, visualization, and reporting
􀁸 Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, scientists, and others to understand data needs, address technical challenges, and promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.
􀁸 Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members and colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in D&A practices.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Min 12+ years in IT

􀁸 10+ years of experience in data visualization and analysis. (Proficiency level: 5)
􀁸 Proficient in gathering and cleaning data from various sources. (Proficiency level: 5)
􀁸 Familiar with statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies. (Proficiency level: 5)
􀁸 Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate program requirements into technical solutions and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. (Proficiency level: 5)
􀁸 Good oral (presenting and public speaking) and written (documentation, briefing reports, correspondence, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) communication skills. (Proficiency level: 4)
􀁸 Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments. (Proficiency level: 5)

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
􀁸 5-10 years of experience with Qlik Sense or Qlik Cloud
􀁸 Experience with Alteryx.
􀁸 Experience with Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar data tools.
􀁸 5+ years of experience with environmental data (science, water quality, or related fields.
