Job Details

Job Responsibilities include:
  • Programming and troubleshooting of DCS control system
  • Programming and troubleshooting of PLC systems
  • Support day-to-day operations
  • Participate in new hardware/software selection and specification
  • Participate in commissioning & troubleshooting new programming
  • Maintain & manage health of control systems and process networks
  • Assist with team management of plant historian (OSI PI)
  • Assist with team management of programming of associated OSI software (PI AF, PI Vision)
  • Provide 24/7 On-call coverage at least one week per month
  • Minimal travel for training & conferences
  • Full-time, 9/80 schedule Bayport location; Additional hours for start-up support/post-outages

***This position will be solely responsible for the DCS site conversion projects beginning with HPC South.

Essentials Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Electrical engineering
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Distributive Control System engineering role
  • Experience with ABB/Infi-90 DCS, Allen Bradley & Modicon PLC's
  • Demonstrated ability to implement DCS changes with little to no impact on the running processes
  • Willingness to engage in collaborations with Operations engineering requests
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent people skills and customer focus
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently
  • Motivation to learn and expand skill sets
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks & be open to growing from lessons learned

Desired Qualifications:
  • Computer skills, ABB Composer software, Rockwell FactoryTalk suites, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint
  • Ability to learn software/hardware test & integration of DCS systems
  • Ability to reverse engineer legacy programming
  • Strong motivational skills
