Scientist II

ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Scientist II with a pharmaceutical company. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity with our client located in Ridgefield, CT. This role will be fully onsite 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Under close supervision, use standard molecular biology techniques to conduct experiments aimed at establishing and validating various cell lines tailored toward specific project needs
• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments efficiently
• Analyze data and effectively communicate results
• Learn advanced technologies to expand scientific knowledge and technical skills
• Collaborate with members within the Oncology Research Department to support project advancement and decision making
• Prepare and deliver internal scientific presentations and reports as needed; contribute to external publications
• Operate and maintain lab equipment
• Comply with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner
• Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with three-plus (3+) years of experience in a related scientific discipline OR Master's Degree from an accredited institution in a related scientific discipline
• No PhD candidates will be considered
• Good understanding of basic scientific principles and research practices
• Industry experience is preferred
• Extensive research experience using molecular biology techniques, including aseptic cell culture, CRISPR/Cas9, genomic DNA extraction/RNA purification, PCR, molecular cloning, transfection, transduction, RT-qPCR, and Western Blot
• Proficient in data analysis, result interpretation, troubleshooting, and solving technical issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and data analysis software
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative research environment

Desired skills:

• Experience with designing multi-color flow cytometry panels, cell sorting, and data analysis using FlowJo
• Research experience in immunology and viral vector construction

Pay range: Up to $42.90 per Hour
