Job Description – Cloud / Virtual OS Administrator (Windows/Linux)
Role Overview
Responsible for end-to-end OS administration of cloud and virtual server estate supporting critical database platforms. Focus on stable operations, security compliance, automation, and lifecycle management across Windows and Linux environments.
Technical Skills
- 6–8 years in OS administration (Windows/Linux)
- Hands-on experience in enterprise-scale environments (1000+ servers preferred)
- Exposure to cloud + hybrid infrastructure setups
- Strong hands-on with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration across large-scale environments
- Deep expertise in Active Directory, Group Policy, IAM controls (RBAC / sudo access models)
- Experience in server provisioning, configuration management, and OS lifecycle (build → patch → upgrade → decommission)
- Proven capability in OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening (CIS / enterprise baselines)
- Hands-on with VMware / Hyper‑V virtualization and managing VMs in enterprise setups
- Working experience with AWS / Azure VM operations (compute, storage, basic networking, scaling)
- Strong scripting skills using PowerShell (Windows) and Shell scripting (Linux) for automation
- Exposure to monitoring tools (OS-level metrics, alert triage, health checks) and performance tuning
- Experience in backup/restore support, DR drills, and system recovery at OS layer
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow or equivalent) and runbook-driven operations
The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $105,000* per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
