What are we looking?
We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer with strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Android applications.
The role requires experience with Android development, REST API integration, SQLite, WebView, and managing application UI and performance on low-memory devices.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support Android applications.
- Integrate Android applications with backend services using REST APIs.
- Work with SQLite for local data storage.
- Develop and support functionality using WebView.
- Develop and manage user interfaces for low-memory devices.
- Optimize application behavior and UI performance for resource-constrained devices.
- Troubleshoot Android application, device, UI, and API integration issues.
- Write and maintain unit tests.
- Perform and support API testing.
- Follow secure coding practices for application development.
- Monitor and troubleshoot application issues using Datadog and Grafana where applicable.
- Use GitHub for source code management.
- Use Jira for tracking development activities and defects.
- Support debugging and resolution of application issues across development and production environments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years of relevant software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Android development.
- Experience integrating Android applications with REST APIs.
- Experience with SQLite.
- Experience with WebView.
- Experience developing and managing UI for low-memory devices.
- Experience with GitHub and Jira.
- Strong understanding of unit testing.
- Experience with API testing.
- Understanding of secure coding practices.
- Experience with Datadog and/or Grafana.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
