DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCESPrior experience in a hospital/healthcare setting required.
Demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience required.
CHFM is a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training - B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Management or equivalent degree applicable to facility management.
Experience - Requires a minimum of 8 years of related engineering and management experience in a large healthcare organization in facilities management.
Skills - Excellent communication and leadership skills required.
Be Bold.Work Performed- Direct the overall maintenance and engineering support for Duke Clinical or Medical Research facilities and systems; establish and maintain a routine and preventive maintenance program for the outlying buildings and research facilities and supporting systems.
- Coordinate proactive planning for special maintenance, upgrade and renovation projects; monitor the execution, completion and inspection of projects.
- Consult and collaborate with other departments, administration, contractor support, and vendors in determining building needs for both short- and long-term planning.
- Coordinate resolution for special maintenance and construction problems and assist user in determining priorities for changes as needed.
- Review plans, specifications and equipment; inspect facilities and ensure compliance with JCAHO, NFPA, OSHA, AALAC and other state and federal codes and regulations.
- Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, discipline, firing, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, training, and scheduling.
Perform other duties incidental to the job as required.
