Job DescriptionAs a Consulting Member of Technical Staff in PSR Engineering, you'll drive innovations in performance, scalability, and reliability for Oracle's cutting-edge cloud services. You will collaborate with talented engineers across the company, tackling complex challenges in cloud architecture, automation, observability, and incident resolution. Your expertise will help teams optimize every layer of the stack-from client-side code to multi-tenant backend systems-using advanced tools and practices. You'll play a key role in establishing best practices, mentoring engineers, building automation and toolchains, and ensuring our solutions continually set new standards for user experience, efficiency, and dependability. This is an opportunity to influence Oracle's technology direction and to learn from and share knowledge with industry leaders in a supportive, high-impact engineering environment.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:
- Perform UI client-side performance analysis and collaborate on optimizing client-rendered application responsiveness.
- Analyze and debug complex client-side JavaScript issues for optimal front-end performance.
- Contribute expertise on client-side architecture and development best practices for front-end engineering teams.
- Own the end-to-end performance architecture for cloud services: define SLOs, capacity models, and performance budgets; design for multi-tenant scale, resiliency, and AI/ML workloads.
- Build and evolve the PSR toolchain and automation: tracing, profiling, load/chaos testing, regression detection, and CI/CD performance gates; deliver reusable dashboards and runbooks.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production and pre-prod issues across app, runtime, database, storage, and network layers; lead incident war rooms, RCAs, and drive durable fixes.
- Partner with application, platform, and security teams to optimize latency, throughput, availability, and cost; apply patterns such as caching, backpressure, circuit breaking, and rate limiting.
- Establish reference architectures and best practices; conduct design/code reviews and ensure PSR considerations are baked into architecture decisions.
- Mentor and up-level engineers; provide training on profiling, JFR/heap analysis, SQL tuning, and observability fundamentals.
- Evaluate and benchmark emerging technologies; recommend adoption aligned with enterprise security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Define and report PSR KPIs (p95/p99 latency, throughput, error rate, saturation, availability) and communicate progress to engineering and leadership.

- Strong understanding of client-side development internals and modern frontend architecture.
- Experience with SPA (Single Page Application) UI architecture and performance tuning using frameworks such as Angular, React, or KnockOut
- Strong database performance skills (SQL design, indexing, query plans, vector search), caching, streaming, OS and networking fundamentals.
- Cloud services, AI/ML, micro-service experience.
- Hands-on with observability (OpenTelemetry, metrics/logging), JFR/jcmd/profilers tuning, and load/chaos testing.
- Experience with containers/Kubernetes, service mesh, CI/CD, ML-Ops, DevSecOps, and cost/performance optimization in public cloud.
- Extensive full stack development and troubleshooting experience with a performance engineering focus, including both frontend and backend systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
