Summary

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Principal/Senior Acquisition Program Engineer - Navigation, Guidance & Control (N/ GNC) & Time-Space-Position Information (TSPI) supporting the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Armament Directorate Advanced Programs Division (AFLCMC/EBA).

On the Emerald Coast-where cutting-edge weapons development meets white-sand beaches-you'll ensure anything that guides, navigates, or tracks stays lethal, reliable, and ahead of the threat. This role brings technical punch across the entire DoD acquisition lifecycle, tackling the toughest Nand TSPI challenges in modern armament systems. You'll blend deep theoretical know-how with practical engineering expertise to evaluate designs, validate performance, and enforce technical rigor from concept through fielding and sustainment.

If it flies fast, maneuvers hard, or must stay locked-on in a denied environment-you'll make sure it performs with precision.

This is a full-time, onsite position at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead technical reviews of navigation, guidance, control, and TSPI systems, assessing GPS/INS integration, sensor fusion approaches, and navigation algorithm performance against program specifications.
  • Develop and deliver technical reports, validation criteria, and analysis of navigation system performance, including Monte Carlo, covariance, and real-time/post-mission TSPI assessments.
  • Provide systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle for NTSPI components, including integration, sustainment, test planning, and risk management aligned with AF SEAM.
  • Conduct engineering trade studies and technical evaluations focused on GPS modernization, anti-jam techniques, alternate navigation solutions for GPS-denied environments, and TSPI instrumentation.
  • Analyze proposals, requirements, and programmatic documentation/artifacts to ensure technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and proper allocation of NTSPI requirements throughout the system baseline.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field and 15 years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field and 10 years relevant experience; OR PhD in Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related field and 5 years of related experience
  • Experience in weapon systems engineering within the DoD acquisition environment
  • Current Secret w/ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret clearance

Preferred:
  • Current Top Secret clearance
  • Hands-on experience with GPS/INS integration, Kalman filtering, and navigation algorithm development (real-time and post-mission)
  • Strong technical writing, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills; experience supporting IPTs
  • Experience with anti-jam techniques, jamming threat assessment, and NAVWAR-related testing
  • Proficiency with Monte Carlo/covariance analysis, M&S of navigation systems, and TSPI instrumentation/systems
  • Familiarity with AF SEAM-aligned risk management and programmatic documentation (ICD/CDD/CPD, AoA, CONOPS)
  • Experience with SAASM/M-Code receivers, IMU selection/characterization, and GPS modernization programs
  • Knowledge of GNSS (GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) exploitation considerations
  • Background with RF simulators, range radar/laser tracking systems, and range infrastructure
  • Exposure to aerial target guidance/control and data link engineering (including spectrum management)

Travel: Occasional travel to government/contractor sites and test ranges

Location: Onsite at government facilities; some range/test site support as required
