Infrastructure & Security Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure & Security Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise technology environment. This role is responsible for system upgrades, configuration, application and infrastructure support, and leading technical refresh initiatives. The engineer will also partner with users and IT teams to improve system performance, security, and reliability while providing training and guidance on new technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform system upgrades, configurations, and maintenance across applications and infrastructure platforms.
• Lead and support technology refresh initiatives, including hardware, software, and security upgrades.
• Administer and support firewall and network security solutions, with a focus on FortiGate (Fortinet) platforms.
• Manage and support Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, security, and identity services.
• Configure and troubleshoot network services, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Support and maintain Active Directory, including user management, group policies, authentication, and access control.
• Provide application support and infrastructure troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
• Assist in user training and knowledge transfer for new systems, upgrades, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system architecture, reliability, and security posture.
• Document configurations, procedures, and technical standards.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure upgrades, configuration, and administration in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience administering Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, IPS, routing, upgrades).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, security, and identity integration.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, and firewall concepts.
• Experience with Active Directory administration (users, groups, GPOs, authentication).
• Background supporting applications and infrastructure platforms in production environments.
• Ability to lead technology refresh projects from planning through implementation.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Comfortable training and supporting technical and non-technical users.
