Sr. Systems Administrator
Location: Remote or Texas
Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a recently awarded program. This role will be part of the infrastructure team responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, security, and efficient operation of on-premises and cloud-based systems that support core organizational functions.
The Senior Systems Administrator will support, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud and networked systems, associated operating systems, and enterprise infrastructure tools. This person will work closely with the infrastructure and security teams to identify, communicate, and resolve issues while helping improve the reliability and security of the overall IT environment.
Candidates must be able to work without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
Provide administration, implementation, and maintenance of security best practices based on recommendations from the SOC team across enterprise technology systems.
Collaborate with infrastructure team members to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software, hardware, and cloud systems supporting business objectives and processes.
Support system connectivity across servers, shared software, enterprise applications, and related infrastructure.
Manage and support a hybrid environment consisting of on-premises servers and Azure cloud resources.
Administer and support Windows Server 2016–2022 environments.
Troubleshoot network connectivity issues in LAN/WAN environments using equipment such as Cisco, HP, and Palo Alto.
Coordinate and perform in-depth testing for modified and new systems, including end-user reviews.
Provide orientation, guidance, and support to end users for modified and new systems.
Provide local and remote user support using Jira Service Management and remote administration tools such as GoTo/LogMeIn.
Support system hardening, vulnerability remediation, patch management, access controls, and other infrastructure security initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of systems administration experience.
Strong experience with systems planning, security principles, and general network infrastructure management best practices.
Experience supporting hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Azure administration, and network troubleshooting.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices, including PCI compliance.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and user-friendly manner.
Ability to learn, plan, and deploy new systems based on business needs.
Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
