job summary:

The Senior Network & RF Survey Engineer provides initial design, implementation, optimization, administration, and technical documentation for all enterprise network systems with minimal supervision. This role oversees the daily operations of systems support functions and personnel, engineering solutions for complex problems that require in-depth analysis and creative thinking. The ideal candidate proactively identifies difficult-to-detect errors, performs root-cause analysis, and manages major IT projects that impact multiple organizational branches and mission-critical services.

responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs, configures, installs, implements, tests, integrates, maintains, and supports enterprise-level networks.
  • Leads network projects, manages survey teams, oversees project lifecycles, and fosters collaboration with construction and IT teams.
  • Assists with the research, selection, development, and integration of new technologies to meet organizational goals.
  • Works with internal business units and vendors to effectively engineer and implement network infrastructure modifications.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal regulations and audits across all facets of support and design implementation.
  • Assists with the training and mentorship of junior engineers and personnel.
  • Provides technical oversight, administration, and support for the availability, optimization, performance, and capacity reviews of enterprise internetworking devices (firewalls, routers, switches, security devices, and supporting network fabric).
  • Troubleshoots and optimizes various enterprise network technologies, including but not limited to: LAN, WLAN, WAN, SWAN, Network Load Balancers, VIPs, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VPN, WAP, NAC, NAT, SNMP, QoS, VLANs, ACLs, TACACS, and RADIUS.
  • Installs and configures network devices strictly adhering to standard configuration benchmarks.
  • Provides technical oversight for the design, implementation, and optimization of an enterprise IP telephony network (voice gateways, VoIP call control, call queue control, auto-attendant systems, and IP phones).
  • Manages enterprise network management and monitoring utilities to quickly resolve incident tickets, request tickets, and system faults.
  • Designs and implements disaster recovery plans and quality assurance tests to ensure business continuity and service availability.
  • Produces meticulous reports, comprehensive design documents, and precise technical specifications.
  • Equipped with exceptional analytical skills to perform root-cause analysis and resolve intricate RF challenges in demanding environments (such as complex hospital and office settings).




qualifications:

Experience & Qualifications


Educational Background


Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, Data Communications, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field.


Experience Requirements


Overall Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressive, responsible hands-on experience in RF Survey Engineering, data processing, and computer systems.


Field Environment: Substantial emphasis on field surveying in complex hospital and office environments, coupled with design proficiency and project leadership.


Supervisory Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing/supervising survey teams or network operations specialty functions.


Certifications (Required & Preferred)


Required: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) OR Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) certification (or equivalent verified experience).


Preferred: Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP).
