Job Summary:

• Seeking a Junior UI/UX Designer/Developer (Web Designer) to support modernization, maintenance, and enhancement of public-facing web applications for the EMS program.
• The candidate will work on web development, user experience (UX), accessibility compliance, content management, and graphic design support.
• This role requires collaboration with program teams to create user-friendly, accessible, mobile-responsive websites with clear navigation and engaging content.
• The candidate will support website improvements, digital content updates, analytics reporting, and accessibility compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance Bureau of EMS webpages and public-facing web content.
• Develop new web pages and update existing pages using:
• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript
• Drupal
• Other web development tools
• Improve website structure, layout, navigation, and overall user experience.
• Optimize websites for:
• Mobile responsiveness
• Cross-browser compatibility
• Accessibility compliance
• Streamline user access to:
• Forms
• Applications
• Regulatory documents
• Educational resources
• Create and update graphics, images, and web design elements to improve visual presentation.
• Ensure all web content complies with:
• WCAG accessibility standards
• Section 508 guidelines
• Web accessibility best practices
• Develop and maintain accessible digital content including:
• Web pages
• PDFs
• Documents
• Videos
• Create resource pages with external links supporting EMS agencies and leadership.
• Collaborate with internal teams to review, approve, and publish website updates.
• Generate and analyze website performance reports using:
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Google Tag Manager
• Looker Studio
• Support digital engagement initiatives to attract future EMS professionals and provide training resources.

Required Skills:

• 36+ months experience with front-end web development, including:
• Website content management
• Page layout
• Web design

• 24+ months experience with:
• HTML5
• Bootstrap
• CSS
• JavaScript
• jQuery
• RegEx
• Experience designing and developing responsive web applications.
• Experience supporting cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience developing and maintaining HTML forms.
• Strong experience with web accessibility standards including:

• ARIA Attributes
• WebAIM Guidelines
• Experience creating accessible documents including:
• PDF files
• Word documents
• Videos
• Experience using graphic design tools such as:
• Adobe Photoshop
