Technical PM with Insurance Background (Local to MN - onsite)

Description

• We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex enterprise technology initiatives with a strong focus on Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) execution, delivery governance, and cross-functional coordination. This individual will manage technical projects from inception through implementation, partnering closely with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners to ensure successful delivery.
• The ideal candidate brings a strong technical delivery background, excellent organizational leadership, and experience managing enterprise application initiatives in structured environments. Experience supporting Finance and Accounting applications is preferred but not a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of technical projects across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)including planning, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support
• Build, manage, and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, dependencies, risk logs, and executive status reporting
• Serve as the primary project lead coordinating across internal stakeholders, technical teams, business partners, and third-party implementation vendors
• Drive accountability with external implementation partners to ensure deliverables, timelines, issue resolution, and overall project execution remain on track
• Manage vendor relationships, implementation activities, project governance, and escalation management throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Partner with engineering, architecture, QA, infrastructure, business analysts, and business teams to align project objectives and execution plans
• Facilitate Agile and project governance ceremonies including status meetings, planning sessions, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications
• Utilize Jira for sprint planning, backlog tracking, issue management, dependency monitoring, and delivery transparency
• Manage scope changes, competing priorities, and cross-team dependencies in fast-paced enterprise environments
• Support initiatives involving finance, accounting, ERP, or business-critical enterprise applications

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, Technology Delivery, or Program Management
• Strong experience leading projects across structured SDLC environments
• Proven experience managing complex cross-functional technical initiatives involving internal teams and external vendors
• Hands-on experience using Jira for project tracking, delivery coordination, and issue management
• Experience managing third-party implementation vendors and holding partners accountable to delivery commitments
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, leadership, and vendor partners
• Strong risk management, dependency management, issue resolution, and executive communication skills
• Experience coordinating testing cycles, release planning, and production deployments
