Network Build Engineer (Mid-Level)
Position Overview
This is a hybrid-onsite role in Dallas, TX where the resource will come onsite for closet evaluations as needed.
The Network Build Engineer is an execution focused role responsible for scoping, configuring, and deploying wired and wireless infrastructure for new site builds and expansions. This role translates project requirements into deployed solutions using Cisco, Meraki, and Aruba technologies.
The position is ideal for a mid level engineer with five to six years of build experience.
Responsibilities
· Review project requirements and determine network build needs for new sites and expansions.
· Scope required network infrastructure including switches, access points, and supporting components.
· Configure and deploy wired and wireless solutions following established standards.
· Build and configure Cisco and Meraki switching and wireless environments.
· Perform Meraki dashboard configuration, including site creation and build out.
· Deploy and support Aruba wireless solutions.
· Conduct wireless scoping and develop access point placement plans.
· Execute installations with limited need for advanced troubleshooting.
· Validate builds post installation to ensure successful deployment.
· Collaborate with project managers and senior engineers throughout delivery.
· Document configurations and as built information.
Qualifications
Required
· Five to six years of experience executing network builds from planning through deployment.
· Experience with Cisco wired and wireless networking.
· Experience with Cisco Meraki environments.
· Experience with Aruba wireless.
· Ability to assess site requirements and translate them into deployable solutions.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured build processes.
· Comfortable working in project based delivery environments.
Preferred
· Experience building networks for healthcare, clinic, or branch style environments.
· Exposure to wireless surveys or access point planning tools.
· Experience with site expansions or network refresh projects.
· Professional services or client facing delivery experience.
· Familiarity with Cisco ISE, ThousandEyes, and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds.
