Title: Payroll Analyst
Job Type: Contract 12 months
Work Location: Alexandria, VA
Work Arrangement: Onsite/Hybrid (4 days onsite)
Resources to support payroll operations by processing payroll accurately and timely while ensuring compliance with company policies, federal and state regulations, and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements. This role requires a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist with strong experience in payroll processing, audits, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
• Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
• Review and validate employee timekeeping records, leave accrual balances, overtime, and payroll
adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Maintain payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, tax withholdings, and direct deposit information.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinate with Human Capital regarding employee status changes and payroll actions.
• Process payroll-related transactions including retroactive pay, bonuses, and termination-related vacation payments.
• Generate payroll reports and support audit requests as needed.
• Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll information.
Preferred Qualifications
• Five (5) years of payroll experience.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and regulations.
• Experience with payroll systems such as Oracle and Kronos.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
• Must be highly detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy.
• Experience supporting large organizations or unionized environments.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fiel
