Summary

Role: Senior Project Manager, Finance Transformation
Location: Irving, TX (Onsite)

Position Summary
  • The Senior Project Manager, Finance Transformation, leads the planning and execution of finance workstreams within the ARC program — owning scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder alignment from mobilization through hypercare. This role is the connectionpoint between Finance leadership and technical delivery, ensuring transformation initiatives land as working processes and not just deployed configuration.
  • Operating as a partner to Controllership, FP&A, Enterprise Controls, IT, and Business Unit leaders, the role is accountable for disciplined execution, transparent reporting, and the readiness of the finance organization on day one.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Delivery
  • Own integrated project plans across finance workstreams — design, build, data conversion, testing, cutover, and hypercare — including milestones, dependencies, and critical path management.
  • Drive delivery governance: steering committee materials, status reporting, decision logs, RAID management, and escalation paths.
  • Manage scope through formal change control; assess and communicate the financial, schedule, and resource impact of change requests.
  • Coordinate across parallel workstreams (IT, data, integration, change management, external system integrators) to resolve cross-stream dependencies before they hit the critical path.
Financial & Resource Management
  • Build and manage workstream budgets; track actuals against plan, forecast to complete, and explain variances to program and Finance leadership.
  • Support funding requests, CAR documentation, WBS structure definition, and capital versus expense treatment in line with McKesson policy.
  • Manage internal and partner resource plans, onboarding, and utilization; oversee SI and contractor performance against statements of work.
  • Business Readiness & Process
  • Partner with process owners to design and operationalize future-state finance processes, including governance, approval flows, reporting cadence, and process controls.
  • Drive simplification, standardization, and automation opportunities across close, reporting, and transactional finance.
  • Own cutover planning and business readiness assessment: role mapping, training completion, control readiness, go/no-go criteria, and day-one support model.
  • Stakeholder Management & Change
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Finance stakeholders; translate technical constraints into business language and business needs into delivery requirements.
  • Lead change management and adoption activities in partnership with the OCM team, including communications, stakeholder impact assessment, and training rollout.
  • Prepare executive-ready narratives on progress, risk, and outcomes for senior Finance and IT leadership.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience, and typically 8+ years of relevant project or program management experience, including finance transformation or ERP delivery. Less experience required with a relevant Master’s qualification.
Critical Skills
  • 8+ years managing complex, cross-functional projects, with demonstrated ownership of at least one large-scale ERP or finance transformation program end to end.
  • Strong working knowledge of core finance processes: record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, FP&A, and month-end close.
  • Practical understanding of SAP S/4HANA finance delivery lifecycle phases and the artifacts each phase produces.
  • Proven budget ownership: cost modeling, business case development and validation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and to hold senior stakeholders and vendors to commitments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level reporting and facilitation.
Additional Skills & Knowledge (Preferred)
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or Prince2 certification.
  • Experience with M&A integration, carve-out, or separation programs.
  • Hands-on experience with Planview, Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, Fieldglass, Ariba, Workday, or SAC/BPC.
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI; comfort building the analysis rather than commissioning it.
  • Healthcare, distribution, or Fortune 100 shared-services experience.
  • Prior consulting or Big 4 finance transformation background.
