Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer to support the development, enhancement, integration, and ongoing operation of enterprise eCommerce and web-based applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, eCommerce platforms, JavaScript, SQL, MongoDB, and modern web technologies. Experience with Open Storefront Framework (OSF) or Oracle Commerce technologies is highly preferred.

This position will be responsible for analyzing existing applications, designing and developing enhancements, troubleshooting complex application issues, supporting integrations, conducting testing, and maintaining multiple development and testing environments.

Candidates with strong Java and eCommerce development experience are encouraged to apply even if their Oracle Commerce Cloud experience is limited.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and maintain enterprise eCommerce and web applications.
• Analyze existing application code and business requirements to develop effective technical solutions.
• Develop and debug applications using Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, XML, and JSON.
• Support storefront and eCommerce applications and related integrations.
• Develop and maintain integrations between applications, APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Work with Open Storefront Framework (OSF) and related eCommerce technologies.
• Support applications utilizing MongoDB and relational databases.
• Investigate application defects, production issues, and system performance problems.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Perform unit testing and support application testing throughout development, QA, and User Acceptance Testing environments.
• Correct defects identified during testing and support the deployment of fixes and enhancements.
• Participate in peer code reviews and review code developed by other members of the development team.
• Maintain clean and stable development and non-production environments.
• Support application deployments and configuration changes across multiple environments.
• Develop technical documentation for system changes, application designs, integrations, and enhancements.
• Estimate development effort for new features, enhancements, and technical requests.
• Participate in technical discussions with developers, architects, business stakeholders, and management.
• Evaluate software products and technologies and provide recommendations regarding their suitability.
• Support application monitoring, performance analysis, backup/recovery processes, security, and system controls.
• Follow established change-management, security, development, and quality-assurance procedures.
• Support eCommerce security and PCI-related development standards.
• Provide occasional support for maintenance activities that may occur outside normal business hours.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for assigned applications and technologies.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience with the following technologies:

• Java
• JavaScript
• HTML/CSS
• SQL
• XML/JSON
• MongoDB
• Open Storefront Framework (OSF)

Candidates should also have experience or familiarity with:

• Oracle SQL Developer
• DevOps tools and development processes
• Visual Studio or similar development environments
• Application integrations and APIs
• Enterprise web application development
• eCommerce platforms
• Application troubleshooting and debugging
• Source control and code review processes
• Software testing and defect resolution
• Development, QA, UAT, and production environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

• Oracle Commerce Cloud
• Oracle CX Commerce
• Oracle Integration Cloud
• Open Storefront Framework
• Enterprise eCommerce platforms
• Online ordering or shopping-cart applications
• Payment-processing integrations
• REST APIs and web services
• Cloud-based application environments
• CI/CD and DevOps practices

Direct Oracle Commerce Cloud experience is beneficial but not required for candidates who possess strong Java, eCommerce, storefront, and web application development experience.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a hands-on developer who can independently analyze complex applications and develop practical technical solutions.

The candidate should possess strong problem-solving and debugging skills and be comfortable working with both modern and existing enterprise applications.

The individual should also be able to communicate technical concepts clearly to developers, business users, project managers, and other stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.

Strong documentation, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills are important for success in this position.

Additional Requirements

• Must be available to work 40 hours per week.
• This position is fully remote.
• Candidate must be able to participate in a video-enabled Microsoft Teams interview.
• Candidate must be able to work effectively in a remote development environment.
• Candidates must be authorized to work from within the United States.
• Government-issued equipment associated with the engagement may not be taken or used outside the United States.
• Occasional after-hours support may be required for system maintenance or deployment activities.
