One of our Top Federal IT Partners is hiring key resources for their existing program supporting Department of Commerce (NTIA National Telecommunications & Information Administration) on various efforts that manage the government s use of radio frequency spectrum essentially, the airwaves used for satellites, radars, GPS, and wireless communications. Requirements:
- Active SECRET Clearance or higher REQUIRED
- CompTIA Security+ REQUIRED to satisfy DoD 8570.01M requirements (or higher level certifications in IAT Level II classification)
- 7+ years of systems administration experience supporting enterprise Windows and Linux environments
- 3+ years administering Azure or Azure Government cloud environments
- 4+ years managing Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, and monitoring services within secure enterprise environments
- 3+ years utilizing Ansible or PowerShell DSC / scripting for system configuration, patching, and automation of infrastructure operations
- Experience administering Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) for privilege access controls
- Experience maintaining secure, compliant environments aligned with FedRAMP, NIST, and DISA STIG standards
Preferred Skills:
- Experience supporting Dept. of Commerce or federal civilian programs
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server database environments in cloud or hybrid infrastructure
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers in the Azure Government cloud
- Handle system configuration, patch management, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and security of all VMs and services
- Administer user and service accounts for cleared personnel
- Manage access permissions according to the least privilege principles
- Integrate systems with Azure Active Directory or on-prem AD for centralized identity management and multi-factor authentication
- Validate that all system changes meet compliance requirements (applying DISA STIGs or hardening guidelines to each server)
- Utilize automation tools like Ansible or PowerShell scripts to streamline repetitive admin tasks (provisioning new servers, configuring roles/features, or backing up system configurations)
- Monitor system performance, CPU, memory, disk usage and event logs via Azure Monitor or custom scripts
- Respond to alerts and conduct root cause analysis for any downtime or performance degradation
- Periodically test restore processes to ensure COOP and disaster recovery objectives can be met
- Evaluate and recommend available database management system (DBMS) products
