Application Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support the design, deployment, optimization, and maintenance of modern application platforms and infrastructure. This role will focus on containerized environments, cloud technologies, application performance, and platform reliability. The ideal candidate combines DevOps, platform engineering, and application support expertise with a passion for building scalable, secure, and highly available systems.

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Systems Administration, or Application Engineering
* Experience deploying, maintaining, and scaling enterprise applications
* Hands-on experience with containers, Kubernetes, and Helm
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools
* Experience with application monitoring and observability platforms
* General cloud platform knowledge
* Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and load balancing
* Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of security fundamentals, including certificates, TLS, and secrets management
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with Neo4j or other graph database technologies
* Experience with Kubernetes distributions such as RKE2, OpenShift, or similar platforms
* Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform
* Experience with Container Storage Interface (CSI) implementations, such as Portworx
* Experience supporting cloud migration initiatives
* Familiarity with Splunk, AppDynamics, or similar monitoring tools
* Exposure to API management platforms and gateway technologies

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
