SAIC has an opportunity for a Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer in Chantilly, VA to provide systems engineering advisory expertise to the NRO GEOINT Systems Integration and Architecture (GSIA) office. Provide analysis support services during the modeling and simulation process to refine GEOINT satellite constellation architectures and spacecraft design concepts. Provide technical and programmatic assistance to Government team members regarding both spacecraft and payload activities that span the Satellite development life cycle. Qualified candidates must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Modeling and Simulation Support. Responsibilities will focus on:
  • Coordinate development of modeling and simulation activities.
  • Review and analyze results in the areas of mission design, and spacecraft and payload operations to support architecture decisions and requirement development.

Systems Engineering Support. Other responsibilities include:
  • Participate in external, program office, and developer-sponsored forums (e.g., working groups, IPTs, and boards) to ensure GSIA program office equities are protected.
  • Perform system level analyses for Government review and consideration.
  • Support acquisition planning, solicitation, and evaluation, selection, and award activities, including document preparation and advisory support for Government review and approval.
  • Assist with the execution of design trade studies.
  • Assist in requirements development for Government review and approval.

Assist with assessment and management of:
  • Various space vehicle design studies and Major System Acquisitions (MSAs).
  • Test documentation.
  • Readiness activities and Milestone events.
  • Verification of requirements and criteria.


Qualifications
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, or similar technical discipline.
  • 8 years of System Engineering experience on complex space systems.
  • Experience assessing models, simulations and analyses of Electro-Optical, Radar, or Communications satellite systems and related ground systems.
  • Experience participating in federal contracting for systems and services.
  • Microsoft Excel expertise and PowerPoint competence.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:
  • MS in Engineering, Physics, or similar technical discipline.
  • 9 years of System Engineering experience on complex space systems.
  • Experience organizing and executing modeling, simulation and analysis studies of Electro-Optical, Radar, and
  • Communications satellite systems and related ground systems.
  • Experience with Modeling & Simulations Tools
  • Experience organizing and executing NRO acquisition processes across all phases of the contract lifecycle.
  • Proficiency representing complex data in high level Microsoft PowerPoint presentations tailored to specific audiences.
