Title: Release Engineer - Only W2''''s - Addison TX Hybrid

Introduction:

Client releases firmware & software for millions of customers in a time-efficient manner. We are seeking a Manager, Release Engineering to join our expanding organization. The Manager, Release Engineering will report to the Director of DevOps & Security Engineering and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive release process. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical, business, and leadership aspects of Release Engineering. This position is based in Dallas and is expected to be in-office five days a week.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub Actions / Jenkins.
• Automate build, test, and deployment processes to ensure reliable and efficient software releases.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to optimize deployment environments.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of production systems.
• Meticulously schedule and review releases to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Apply Agile principles to release management processes.
• Promote DevOps best practices across the organization.
• Produce KPIs and inform Management/Leaders enabling data-driven decision making.
• Utilize ATLASSIAN tools, particularly JIRA and Confluence for issue tracking, project management, and release planning.
• Manage the end-to-end release process, from planning to deployment.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth releases.
• Monitor release progress and address any issues promptly.
• Initiate security testing and reviews at the appropriate time during the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Develop and implement effective GitHub branching strategies.
• Lead and mentor release engineers and other team members.
• Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor''''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Release Manager or similar role.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• ATLASSIAN expertise, especially JIRA and Confluence.
• Ability to oversee complex release processes and manage personnel effectively.
• Technical mindset with management experience.
