BXTI is hiring a Software Engineer for our Credit & Insurance Technology group which transforms businesses through new technology platforms and optimally uses data solutions for our Credit & Insurance business. In this role, you will work with a cross-functional team of technologists that design, build, test, deploy, and support various applications and systems hosted on AWS. This work is instrumental for Blackstone in transforming the Alternative Asset Management industry through innovative technology solutions. Collaborating with product managers, you will drive business value while ensuring the delivery of high-quality code. You'll tackle a variety of problems from scaling our Operations and Finance platforms to promoting efficiency through automating business processes. This role is focused on delivering solutions related to our portfolio accounting data warehouse.
Our internal applications leverage a highly scalable microservices architecture deployed on cloud-hosted containerized environment. Key technologies in our stack include Python, FastAPI, Terraform, SQL, AWS ECS, AWS Lambda, AWS DynamoDB, AWS S3, AWS SNS/SQS, CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins), and data warehouse solutions like Snowflake.
Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain our portfolio accounting data warehouse solutions using Python and SQL, ensuring code quality, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement new features and applications, using Agile methodologies and Jira. Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS, Terraform, and Docker, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Use of standard CI/CD tooling (Jenkins) to build and deploy application code Create, deploy, and maintain APIs and supporting microservices for integrations with our data warehouse.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical design, code reviews, and troubleshoot software defects.
- Provide technical support, automate repetitive tasks, and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with product managers to define project scope and provide business support.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship for junior-level members of the team.
Qualifications: - 7+ years of backend development experience, proficient in C# and/or Python, relational databases, and cloud technologies (preferably AWS).
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, development, and scalable microservice architectures.
- Effectively develops scalable, secure, and maintainable code with strong programming experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial attitude, willing to learn new technologies and financial domains.
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience/knowledge of data warehousing and related concepts is a plus.
- Experience/knowledge of portfolio accounting, credit markets (especially bank debt), Geneva/VPM/Wall Street Office is a very strong plus.

Expected annual base salary range: $160,000 - $225,000
Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the role consist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone's sole discretion.
