Client: Capital One

Job Summary

Capital One is seeking an experienced Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models supporting data warehouse, analytics, and cloud-based applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, data governance, and financial services domains.

Required Skills

8+ years of experience in Data Modeling and Data Architecture.
Strong experience in Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Modeling.
Expertise with data modeling tools such as:

Erwin Data Modeler
ER/Studio
PowerDesigner

Strong SQL skills (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Snowflake).
Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and data marts.
Knowledge of dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with ETL tools and data integration.
Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Master Data Management (MDM).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements.
Define data standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices.
Create and maintain enterprise data models.
Optimize database structures for performance and scalability.
Support data warehouse and analytics initiatives.
Work closely with ETL developers, data engineers, and BI teams.
Ensure compliance with data governance policies.
Perform data analysis and impact assessments for new projects.
Maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation.
