This is not a note-taking BA role. The team needs someone who can walk into an environment where requirements may not be fully defined, ask the right questions, understand the current state, and bring structure and clarity to complex business and GIS-related processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with GIS users, business stakeholders, operations teams, IT, developers, and vendors to understand business processes and system requirements.
  • Gather, analyze, and document GIS business requirements, functional requirements, workflows, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Translate operational and business needs into requirements that can be understood and implemented by technical teams.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, particularly where workflows involve GIS applications, spatial information, or integrations with enterprise systems.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ask detailed follow-up questions to identify gaps, dependencies, system impacts, and integration requirements.
  • Support projects involving Esri/ArcGIS applications and GIS-enabled business processes.
  • Analyze workflows and data movement between GIS platforms and other enterprise applications.
  • Support application upgrades, integrations, migrations, implementations, and decommissioning efforts.
  • Coordinate requirements and dependencies across business, GIS, IT, development, testing, project management, and third-party vendor teams.
  • Assist with UAT, test-case development, validation, defect resolution, and business acceptance.
  • Maintain accurate requirements, workflow diagrams, process documentation, and project artifacts throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Manage requirements across multiple concurrent projects and workstreams.
