Mission Statement

The mission of the Quality Manager is to strengthen Perfecto Tool & Engineering's quality function by ensuring products and processes consistently meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. This position serves as a technical resource within the Quality Department, combining hands-on inspection and measurement responsibilities with quality engineering, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and process improvement. The Quality Manager will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and leadership to identify and resolve quality issues, improve manufacturing processes, and develop effective quality standards and procedures. This position does not initially have direct supervisory responsibility; however, as the quality function grows, there may be opportunities for the role to assume additional leadership responsibilities based on organizational needs and the individual\'s demonstrated capabilities.

The Quality Manager will champion a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while modeling Perfecto's Core Values: Customer Experience, Integrity, Learning, and Stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform and support dimensional inspection of materials, components, finished products, and equipment to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  2. Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to perform dimensional inspections and validate product conformance.
  3. Develop, maintain, and improve CMM inspection programs utilizing PC-DMIS and/or Hexagon software.
  4. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and customer requirements.
  5. Develop and improve inspection methods, inspection plans, quality standards, and documentation requirements.
  6. Analyze inspection results and quality data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  7. Lead or participate in root-cause investigations related to internal and customer quality issues.
  8. Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions.
  9. Work closely with machinists, assemblers, engineering, and manufacturing leadership to resolve quality and manufacturing issues.
  10. Provide technical guidance regarding dimensional inspection, measurement techniques, tolerances, GD&T, and quality requirements.
  11. Assist with the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Perfecto's quality management system.
  12. Support internal, customer, and third-party audits and assist with maintaining appropriate quality documentation.
  13. Document inspection results, nonconformances, corrective actions, and other quality records accurately and consistently.
  14. Participate in the review and disposition of nonconforming materials and products.
  15. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and overall product quality.
  16. Assist in developing quality procedures, work instructions, inspection standards, and departmental workflows.
  17. Support new product and manufacturing process development by identifying quality requirements and appropriate inspection methods.
  18. Partner with manufacturing and engineering to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and incorporated into manufacturing processes.
  19. Provide training and technical support to employees regarding inspection methods, measurement equipment, quality standards, and quality procedures as appropriate.
  20. Promote a culture in which quality is everyone\'s responsibility.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree, technical degree, or specialized training in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant manufacturing and quality experience may be considered.
  2. 5+ years of progressive quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  3. Strong experience using precision measurement equipment, including:
    1. CMM
    2. Micrometers
    3. Calipers
    4. Indicators
    5. Optical comparator
    6. Other precision inspection equipment
  4. Hands-on CMM programming and dimensional inspection experience.
  5. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  6. Strong understanding of dimensional inspection, measurement techniques, tolerances, and manufacturing quality principles.
  7. Demonstrated problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
  8. Experience investigating quality issues and developing effective corrective actions.
  9. Ability to analyze quality data and identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  10. Ability to accurately document inspection results, nonconformances, corrective actions, and quality records.
  11. Ability to develop and improve inspection methods, procedures, and quality processes.
  12. Ability to work effectively across manufacturing, engineering, quality, management, and leadership.
  13. Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  14. Ability to independently manage quality-related projects and priorities while supporting day-to-day inspection needs.
  15. Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical and quality requirements to employees at various levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  2. Experience in a precision machining, tooling, or custom manufacturing environment.
  3. Experience with PC-DMIS software and/or the Hexagon platform.
  4. Advanced CMM programming experience, including development and optimization of inspection routines.
  5. Strong working knowledge of GD&T.
  6. ISO 9001:2015 experience.
  7. Experience supporting or developing a Quality Management System (QMS).
  8. Experience with corrective action and structured root-cause analysis methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, or similar methods.
  9. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  10. Experience analyzing quality metrics and developing improvement initiatives based on quality data.
  11. ASQ certification such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), or equivalent quality training/certification.
  12. Experience supporting customer, internal, or third-party quality audits.
