Position Overview

Texas HHSC is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to design and execute automated testing solutions. The selected candidate will create automated test scripts, prioritize test scenarios, develop execution plans, prepare test environments, and perform functional, application, and regression testing.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling complex QA assignments, interpreting requirements, maintaining test documentation, working with both technical and non-technical teams, and managing multiple responsibilities throughout the testing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design automated tests and create scripts that execute testing functions automatically.
  • Determine priorities for test scenarios and develop detailed execution plans.
  • Create and maintain automated testing documentation.
  • Develop test plans and test cases.
  • Prepare and maintain test environments.
  • Perform functional, application, and regression testing.
  • Interpret business and technical requirement documents and update test documentation accordingly.
  • Support analysis, planning, and management reporting activities.
  • Work closely with customers and stakeholders during test cycles.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Analyze testing issues and provide effective problem-solving solutions.
  • Manage multiple QA responsibilities while meeting project requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant QA/testing experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing automated tests and creating automated test scripts.
  • 8+ years of experience prioritizing test scenarios and creating execution plans.
  • 8+ years of experience creating test plans, test cases, and preparing test environments.
  • 8+ years of experience performing functional, application, and regression testing.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and software development methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret requirements and maintain/update test documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work with the customer during testing cycles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the Texas DIR Project Delivery Framework and document templates - 2+ years.
  • Familiarity with information architecture and information management methodologies - 2+ years.
  • Familiarity with software technology, software architecture, and infrastructure components - 2+ years.
  • Healthcare application testing experience is preferred.
  • Katalon software experience is preferred.
