Summary

Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior C#/.NET A.I. Engineer who operates in an AI-first, spec-driven development environment. This is not a traditional development role where AI is used occasionally. The ideal candidate writes detailed specifications, leverages AI tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot to generate code, and focuses on reviewing, refining, and delivering high-quality solutions at accelerated speed. You will play a key role in modernizing a large-scale enterprise platform used by government agencies, owning delivery from architecture and specification through deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices using C# and .NET.
  • Leverage AI-driven, spec-based development workflows as the primary method of software delivery.
  • Build and support containerized workloads deployed in Kubernetes environments, preferably AWS EKS.
  • Refactor and modernize legacy codebases into scalable cloud-native solutions.
  • Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies and CI/CD best practices.
  • Build and maintain APIs supporting web and mobile applications.
  • Design observability solutions using telemetry, distributed tracing, logging, and metrics.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve application performance, scalability, and memory utilization.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to drive modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of hands-on C#/.NET development experience.
  • Solid SQL Server experience, including performance tuning and query optimization.
  • Deep experience with AI spec-driven development as a primary workflow (required).
  • Use of AI tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to generate the majority of code.
  • Proven experience designing and building cloud-native applications and architectures.
  • Strong Kubernetes experience, including deployments, scaling, debugging, and architecture (AWS EKS preferred).
  • Deep understanding of zero-downtime deployment strategies in containerized environments.
  • Experience with Docker, containerization, and microservices architectures.
  • Strong experience refactoring and modernizing large legacy codebases.
  • Experience implementing observability using OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, structured logging, and metrics.
  • Strong understanding of memory management, application performance, and scalability.
