Summary
One of our clients is urgently looking for a Technical Lead - Mobile Device Deployment.
Duration: 6 months Contract-to-Hire
Location: New York City (5 boroughs)
Scope:
Seeking an experienced Technical Deployment Lead to support a large-scale mobile device deployment initiative across multiple locations throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong technical capabilities and proven experience managing field technicians during enterprise technology deployments.
The successful candidate will serve as the onsite lead, ensuring deployments are executed efficiently, users are properly supported, project reporting is maintained, and deployment teams remain aligned with project objectives and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead and coordinate teams of field technicians during daily deployment activities.
- Serve as the primary onsite escalation point for technical and operational issues.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to deployment technicians.
- Ensure adherence to deployment processes, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Coordinate daily assignments and resource allocation across multiple deployment locations.
Mobile Device Deployment
- Deploy and replace mobile devices for end users in enterprise environments.
- Support device enrollment and configuration through Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
- Verify application installation, functionality, and user access requirements.
- Assist with mobile carrier activations and telephone number porting activities.
- Troubleshoot device provisioning, connectivity, authentication, and application-related issues.
- Perform validation testing to ensure devices are fully operational prior to user handoff.
End User Support
- Conduct device handoff sessions with end users.
- Provide basic user orientation and guidance on new devices and applications.
- Address deployment-related questions and escalate complex issues as needed.
- Maintain a professional customer-service-oriented approach during all user interactions.
Asset Management & Reporting
- Track and inventory all deployed equipment and accessories.
- Maintain accurate asset records, serial numbers, and deployment documentation.
- Generate daily deployment status reports and project updates.
- Ensure chain-of-custody and inventory controls are followed throughout the deployment lifecycle.
- Communicate deployment progress, risks, and issues to project management.
Travel & Site Coordination
- Travel between multiple customer locations throughout New York City''s five boroughs.
- Coordinate onsite activities with customer representatives and project stakeholders.
- Support multiple shifts as required by project schedules and customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience leading field deployment teams in enterprise IT environments.
- Proven experience coordinating and managing onsite technical deployment personnel.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills related to mobile devices and end-user computing.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms such as Workspace ONE, Intune, MobileIron, AirWatch, or similar solutions.
- Experience supporting mobile carrier activations, device provisioning, and number porting.
- Strong understanding of asset management and inventory tracking processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including multiple shifts when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale mobile device refresh or mobility modernization projects.
- Experience working with Apple iOS and Android devices in enterprise environments.
- Experience supporting government, transportation, healthcare, education, or large enterprise customers.
- Previous experience working in customer-facing field service environments.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and project tracking tools.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver''s license required.
- Reliable personal vehicle required.
- Must be willing and able to travel between multiple locations throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
- Must be able to lift and transport deployment equipment and device inventory when necessary.
