  • Provide clear oral and written status reports to management regarding system problems, outages, and resolutions.
Data Center Facilities & Equipment Operations
  • Install and uninstall IT hardware and network equipment; track installation progress and close related change tickets in SNOW.
  • Prepare work orders for facility modifications, cabling placements, and hardware installations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, charts, floor plans, and CAD drawings.
  • Attend facility planning and coordination meetings with building management and security stakeholders.
  • Assist in supporting open systems environments (servers, storage, network equipment) using ITSM best practices.
  • Train and mentor other IT Specialists in problem resolution, maintenance planning, and documentation procedures.
Basic Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field + 5+ years of direct experience supporting large-scale mainframe environments and peripheral devices. (Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Mainframe Expertise: Strong hands-on knowledge of z/OS MVS, JES3, MIM, Top Secret, and mainframe-attached storage technologies.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Proven ability to analyze COMM dumps, JES3 dumps, LOGREC, OPSLOG, RMF, and SYSLOG data under time-sensitive conditions.
  • ITSM Tools: Experience using ServiceNow (SNOW) or comparable enterprise ticketing tools.
  • Communication & Documentation: Excellent written and oral communication skills for management reporting and creating technical documentation/diagrams.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience using CAD tools for data center facility layout and equipment planning.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL / ITSM best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale vendor maintenance and multi-team technical operations.
  • Experience supporting hybrid/open systems environments (enterprise servers, SAN/NAS storage, network hardware).
