Job purpose

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior C# / CRD Application Developer to join our Investment Technology team. The role combines full-stack application development, vendor platform integration, modernization of legacy systems, and production support for business-critical applications used across the firm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and enhancing internal applications, maintaining integrations with key investment management platforms such as Charles River (CRD), Bloomberg, VPM, Virtus, and Broadridge, and driving engineering excellence through modern development practices. The role requires hands-on expertise in C#, SQL Server, APIs, and AI-assisted software development, along with strong problem-solving and production support capabilities.

A key focus of this position is supporting and enhancing the firm's investment management ecosystem while improving the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of both internally developed applications and vendor-integrated solutions.

 

Key responsibilities

·       Application Development

o    Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable enterprise applications using .NET technologies.

o    Build new business applications and enhance existing internal web-based systems.

o    Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering through deployment and support.

o    Develop modern, maintainable, and high-performing full-stack solutions using C#, SQL Server, and JavaScript frameworks.

·       Vendor System Integration

o    Develop, maintain, and support integrations with key vendor platforms including Charles River Development (CRD), Bloomberg, VPM, Virtus, and Broadridge Security Master

o    Design and implement API-based integration solutions to support investment management and operational workflows.

o    Ensure data integrity, availability, and performance across integrated systems.

·       Charles River (CRD) Support & Development

o    Serve as a technical lead for Charles River OMS integrations and support activities.

o    Develop and maintain interfaces, APIs, and workflows involving Charles River.

o    Troubleshoot and resolve production issues impacting trading, portfolio management, and investment operations.

o    Collaborate with business and vendor teams to improve CRD-related processes and functionality.

·       Modernization & Engineering Excellence

o    Refactor and modernize legacy applications and integration frameworks.

o    Implement best practices for coding, testing, monitoring, performance optimization, and documentation.

o    Drive improvements in application reliability, maintainability, scalability, and operational supportability.

·       AI-First Development

o    Leverage AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or equivalent solutions for solution design, code generation, testing, debugging, and documentation.

o    Promote AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering productivity and code quality.

 

·       Production Support

o    Provide Level 2/Level 3 support for business-critical applications and vendor-integrated platforms.

o    Perform root cause analysis, incident resolution, and preventive maintenance.

o    Participate in system monitoring, issue management, and production release activities.

o    Ensure high availability and operational stability of supported applications.

Key competencies

Essential skills

·       Technical Skills

o    7+ years of experience in software development using C# and .NET technologies.

o    Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, stored procedures, query optimization, and performance tuning.

o    Hands-on experience with PowerShell and/or Python scripting and automation.

o    Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.

o    Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and system integration patterns.

o    Experience in enterprise application architecture, design, and development.

·       Charles River & Integration Experience

o    Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Charles River Development (CRD).

o    Experience supporting and developing CRD integrations, APIs, and workflows.

o    Strong understanding of OMS platforms and investment management system integrations.

o    Experience working with vendor-integrated application environments.

·       Demonstrated experience using Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar AI development tools as part of the software development lifecycle.

·       Experience supporting business-critical production applications.

·       Strong troubleshooting, debugging, incident management, and problem-resolution capabilities.

Nice to Have

·       Experience in Asset Management, Investment Management, or Capital Markets.

·       Strong understanding of Fixed Income products, portfolio management processes, and investment operations.

·       Familiarity with front-office and middle-office workflows.

·       Experience working with VPM, Virtus, Bloomberg, and Broadridge Security Master

·       Exposure to portfolio accounting, performance measurement, and security master data management systems.

·       Experience modernizing legacy applications and integration platforms.

·       Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies.

·       Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
