Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Lakewood, CO (onsite)
Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 depending on experience
Travel: Occasional travel to regional office locations

Innovar Group is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve enterprise infrastructure across multiple office environments. This is a highly technical, hands-on role responsible for maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of core systems while contributing to infrastructure planning and modernization efforts.

This position is fully onsite in Lakewood, CO and supports both corporate office users and distributed locations.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll serve as a senior technical resource responsible for designing, supporting, and improving infrastructure systems across network, server, cloud, and communications environments.

Responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure across servers, networking, storage, identity, and communications platforms
• Maintain availability and performance of systems supporting internal users and business operations
• Serve as an escalation point for advanced infrastructure and networking issues (Tier 3 / Tier 4)
• Support circuit provisioning and coordinate with carriers and service providers
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively address performance risks
• Document system architecture, configurations, and operational procedures
• Participate in infrastructure planning and technology roadmap initiatives
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and system deployments
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders on implementation projects
• Provide technical guidance to junior IT staff when needed
• Assist with infrastructure budgeting inputs and future capacity planning

Technical Environment

This role supports a Microsoft-centered enterprise infrastructure environment including:

• Windows Server platforms
• Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
• Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
• VMware ESXi and virtualization technologies
• Fortinet firewall and security platforms
• Enterprise switching, routing, and wireless infrastructure
• VPN configuration and management
• SAN and storage systems
• PowerShell scripting and automation

What We’re Looking For

Required experience:

• 8+ years supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments
• Strong Microsoft infrastructure background (Windows Server, AD, Azure AD)
• Experience managing Microsoft 365 backend services
• Hands-on VMware or comparable virtualization experience
• Networking experience including switches, routers, VPNs, and wireless platforms
• Experience supporting multi-site infrastructure environments
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and infrastructure best practices
• PowerShell scripting experience for automation and maintenance
• Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize competing technical needs

Preferred qualifications:

• MCSE, MCSA, Azure, VMware, or similar certifications
• Experience supporting voice or communications infrastructure
• Experience participating in disaster recovery planning and execution
