Summary

IDR is seeking a Data Center Infrastructure & Automation Engineer to join one of our top clients for an enterprise infrastructure opportunity. This role focuses on the engineering, lifecycle management, automation, and operational support of enterprise server infrastructure across multiple data centers, with an emphasis on server hardware, firmware, operating systems, and infrastructure automation.

Position Overview:
  • Own the lifecycle of enterprise server infrastructure across multiple data centers.
  • Automate server deployment, provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and hardware replacement.
  • Manage server hardware, firmware, drivers, and Windows/Linux operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across hardware, firmware, and operating systems.
  • Build Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Partner with data center teams, vendors, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues and maintain platform stability.

Requirements:
  • Ten plus (10+) years of experience supporting enterprise server infrastructure in large-scale production environments.
  • Strong understanding of server hardware architecture, including compute, memory, storage, networking, and out-of-band management technologies.
  • Strong experience troubleshooting hardware failures and coordinating repairs, replacements, and vendor support.
  • Deep understanding of system firmware, BIOS/UEFI, device drivers, and operating system kernel fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting enterprise Windows and Linux operating system environments.
  • Strong software development and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Go, C#, or similar languages.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, Bicep, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience managing server lifecycle activities, including hardware refreshes, firmware management, operating system upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Experience working in enterprise data center environments and coordinating with remote hands support organizations.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, drivers, operating systems, and infrastructure components.
  • Experience with server vendor management platforms such as Dell iDRAC, HPE iLO, Lenovo XClarity, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, ITSM platforms, and modern software engineering practices is preferred.
  • Experience developing self-healing infrastructure or automated remediation workflows is a plus.
