Job Title: Data Engineer – Google Cloud Platform Migration Specialist
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite/Hybrid Preferred)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) and hands-on experience migrating enterprise databases from on-premises or other cloud platforms to Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud-native Google Cloud Platform services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Dataproc. Experience working in large-scale financial services environments is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design and implement end-to-end database migration strategies to move data from legacy systems (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Netezza, Hadoop, AWS, Azure, etc.) to Google Cloud Platform.

·         Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, and Google Cloud Platform services.

·         Build scalable data ingestion and transformation workflows using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer.

·         Perform data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning to ensure migration accuracy and efficiency.

·         Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.

·         Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver migration solutions.

·         Ensure data security, governance, and compliance standards are followed throughout the migration lifecycle.

·         Troubleshoot migration issues and provide production support.

·         Document migration architecture, mapping rules, and operational procedures.

·         Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices for cloud data engineering.

Required Qualifications:

·         7+ years of experience in Data Engineering.

·         3+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.

·         Proven experience migrating large-scale databases to Google Cloud Platform.

·         Strong SQL and Python development skills.

·         Experience with ETL/ELT design and performance optimization.

·         Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

·         Experience with CI/CD and version control tools such as Git and Jenkins.

·         Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Experience in financial services or banking environments.

·         Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance.

·         Google Cloud Platform Professional Data Engineer certification.

·         Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Nice to Have:

·         Experience with real-time streaming using Pub/Sub.

·         Exposure to machine learning pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.

·         Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
