We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance organization at a chemical manufacturing facility in Martin, SC. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all plant equipment and systems, while driving reliability, asset lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong leadership capabilities, deep technical expertise, and proven experience managing large maintenance budgets and capital projects in a process manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Leadership & Operations>
Lead and manage the full maintenance organization, including Mechanical and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) teams.
Ensure high standards of equipment reliability, availability, and safety across all plant assets.
Develop, implement, and sustain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for significant equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
Establish and track KPIs to measure maintenance performance and drive accountability.

Budget, Planning & Asset Management>
Manage an annual maintenance budget exceeding $2.5M, ensuring cost control and alignment with plant objectives.
Oversee storeroom operations, spare parts inventory, and procurement processes.
Utilize SAP CMMS for maintenance planning, scheduling, asset updates, and reporting.
Perform asset condition assessments and make informed repair vs. replace decisions to optimize lifecycle costs.

Technical & Systems Oversight>
Provide technical oversight for maintenance of process equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, agitators, boilers, piping, valves, tanks, and reactors.
Support and maintain automation and control systems, including Modicon PLCs, VFDs, and DCS platforms.
Ensure maintenance documentation and systems are accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.

Capital Projects & Continuous Improvement>
Scope, plan, and execute maintenance-related CAPEX projects, from concept through commissioning.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, safety, and cost reduction.
Build and execute process improvement projects within the maintenance organization.
Drive long-term maintenance strategies aligned with overall plant and business goals.

Safety, Compliance & Collaboration>
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits and maintain inspection readiness.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and EHS teams to support plant performance.
Develop and deliver training programs to strengthen technical capability within the maintenance team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years of experience leading a maintenance organization, preferably within a chemical or process manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience managing maintenance budgets of $2.5M+.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics.
Proven experience developing and sustaining preventive maintenance programs.
Proficiency with SAP or similar CMMS systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives with measurable results.
Proven ability to manage CAPEX projects from scoping through execution.
