Data Migration Lead Data Warehouse & Reporting

What is in it for you?

We're looking for a Data Migration Lead with deep, hands-on experience in the data warehousing world to own end-to-end data migration efforts across our DW and Reporting ecosystem. The ideal candidate has spent significant years as a tech lead, managed complete SDLC cycles, and can independently run the show with a data-driven approach - while communicating clearly with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities: -

Lead data migration initiatives across DW and reporting platforms, owning design, development, and testing phases end-to-end

Manage the complete SDLC for migration projects - requirements, planning, execution, testing, and delivery

Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation

Build proof-of-concepts (POCs) for report analysis and log analysis to validate migration approaches and troubleshoot issues

Define migration strategy, data mapping, and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and integrity

Drive data-driven decision-making across the project lifecycle.

Identify risks and data quality issues early, and drive resolution independently.

Create and maintain documentation: migration plans, test cases, mapping sheets, and runbooks

Mentor junior team members and guide the team as a technical lead

Partner with business stakeholders, BI teams, and engineering to gather requirements and communicate migration progress, risks, and timelines

Educational Qualifications: -

• Engineering Degree BE/ME/BTech/MTech/BSc/MSc.

Technical certification in multiple technologies is desirable.

Skills: -

Mandatory skills

Strong, well-rounded understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, ETL/ELT design)

Significant years of experience working in data warehousing, including time spent in a tech lead role

Proven track record managing end-to-end SDLC for DW/reporting projects

Hands-on experience in ETL development and reporting

Strong familiarity with data migration projects and methodologies

Strong hands-on SQL skills (complex queries, performance tuning, data validation)

Experience building POCs for report and log analysis

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

Self-starter who can run projects independently with a data-driven mindset

Excellent stakeholder communication skills - able to translate technical details for non-technical audiences and manage expectations across teams

Good to have skills: -

Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, etc.)

Prior experience leading migration projects in a lead/ownership capacity.

Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
