Job Description
We are seeking a Python Developer, Market Risk Technology to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and relational databases (DB2, Sybase, Oracle) and a proven ability to deliver scalable, reliable risk technology solutions in an Agile environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Python services and components for market risk platforms.
- Implement object-oriented designs and apply design patterns and best practices.
- Build and optimize database objects and queries across DB2, Sybase, and Oracle.
- Collaborate with global teams in Ireland, the UK, India, and the U.S. in a high-pressure environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python with hands-on object-oriented programming. Java experience is a plus.
- Good understanding of design patterns and engineering best practices.
- Proven database development experience with DB2, Sybase, and Oracle.
- Experience delivering in high-pressure environments within a financial institution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with effective communication and collaboration.
- Self-motivated with the ability to initiate projects and drive to completion.
- 5+ years of applicable software development experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Quartz.
- Market risk or investment banking product knowledge.
- Prior work in Agile/Scrum teams.
