Business Analyst

We are seeking a senior-level Business Analyst Consultant to support a major, multi-year Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) Modernization program. This contract position serves as a vital liaison between the business community and the IT organization, helping to replace legacy systems with modern, modular, and scalable capabilities.

The consultant will analyze operations, determine opportunities for process automation, redesign business workflows, and translate high-level business requirements into precise functional specifications to ensure successful system integration and delivery.

Location & Work Arrangement

• City, State: Columbia, SC
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote).
• Requirement: Candidates must be current South Carolina residents (no relocation permitted).
• Interview Mode: One-round virtual/online interview.
• Shift: EST.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process & Integration Analysis

• Perform business process analysis, performance assessments, and business process redesign for assigned modules.
• Lead business design sessions and drive dynamic discussions regarding data configuration within core modernization modules.
• Translate business needs into structured functional specifications and manage ongoing changes to those specs.

Collaboration & Liaison

• Serve as the main bridge between business units and IT verticals to align technological solutions with operational principles.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings to resolve complex issues and integrate functionality across modules.
• Train and mentor team members to deliver high-quality business solutions.

Project Coordination

• Coordinate priorities and resources across multiple projects within the modernization program.
• Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress toward integration goals.
• Provide routine status updates and participate in operational lead meetings.

Required Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• System Integration: Experience managing large-scale business and technology integrations (6+ years preferred).
• Federal Standards: Understanding of Federal Certification requirements and processes (6+ years preferred).
• Leadership: Prior project management experience (6+ years preferred).
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field (or 7+ years of equivalent experience).
