Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing technology solutions supporting Derivative Transaction Reporting and Strategic NFRR programs. The successful candidate will partner with business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions, develop Python-based applications and automation, and participate in Agile delivery processes while maintaining application stability, performance, and quality.
Responsibilities: - Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements
- Participate and guide the team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
- Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
- Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
- Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in the design and development of client requirements
- Assist the team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work
- Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
- Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
- Participate, contribute, and coach team members in delivery/release (CI/CD) events such as branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, and release notes
Requirements: - Strong Python development skills
- Experience with Quartz
- Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
