in a vehicle traveling to test sites About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced
Field Network Tester to support extensive field and mobility testing across wireless technologies, devices, and network features. The role requires strong expertise in field test tools, wireless network technologies (LTE/5G), troubleshooting, analytics, and reporting. This position is highly field-driven, involving daily travel to various test locations within the region.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- professional experience in wireless testing, telecom engineering, or field/device validation.
- Hands-on experience with industry tools such as QXDM, QCAT, QPST, TEMS, Nemo, or similar.
- Strong understanding of CDMA, EVDO, LTE, and 5G NR technologies.
- Experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to travel up to 30% (primarily local, within daily testing routes).
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with post-processing tools: Actix, WindCatcher, XCAL/XCAP-M.
- Experience with Spirent/Metrico tools: NOMAD, MUSE, Datum.
- Prior experience conducting FIT (Field Interoperability Testing) and carrier test plans for major U.S. operators.
- Hands-on cell phone/device testing experience.
- Ability to design, maintain, and automate test scripts using Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and APIs (OpenAI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace, Azure AI Studio).
- Strong documentation, defect reporting, and analytics capabilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesField & Mobility Testing- Execute field and mobility drive tests for development, MR (Maintenance Release), and feature validation projects.
- Perform FIT testing across various wireless environments and network conditions.
- Prepare devices prior to field runs (software loading, tool configuration, device setup).
- Conduct sanity, stability, functionality, stress, and feature testing on wireless devices.
- Create or update test routes based on network changes, new features, or infrastructure upgrades.
Device, Network, & Lab Validation- Troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, firmware, and embedded systems in wireless devices.
- Conduct lab-based evaluations of wireless products and accessories.
- Simulate customer usage scenarios to validate product performance.
- Validate wireless features against requirements, specs, and engineering test plans.
Data Analysis & Reporting- Capture, post-process, and interpret field test logs using tools such as Actix, WindCatcher, XCAL/XCAP-M, etc.
- Identify software defects and track issues through PLM or internal defect management tools.
- Produce daily field reports with detailed findings, logs, and metrics.
- Prepare engineering summaries, compliance reports, and documentation for development teams.
- Maintain accurate and clear test documentation, test cases, and processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with development, QA, systems engineering, and carrier certification teams.
- Ensure all test activities comply with established standards, methodologies, and quality processes.
- Support all phases of the software lifecycle: design ? develop ? test ? release ? maintain.
