Position: Aeronautical Engineer

Location: Palmdale, CA

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aeronautical Engineer to support the design, integration, and development of advanced aerospace systems. This role will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts, performing system-level trade studies, and coordinating with manufacturing and production teams to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead system integration activities across aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, thermal systems, electronics, controls, and actuation systems.

Support the design, development, and optimization of advanced aerospace platforms and related subsystems.

Conduct multidisciplinary trade studies to evaluate performance, cost, manufacturability, and program requirements.

Perform and support airframe structural design and analysis activities for metallic and composite structures.

Collaborate with manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, quality, and supply chain teams to support production and program execution.

Coordinate engineering efforts related to nonconformance investigations, material review activities, and design changes.

Develop technical documentation, engineering reports, presentations, and customer-facing deliverables.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations to stakeholders.

Support prototype development, testing, qualification activities, and product lifecycle improvements.

Mentor junior engineers and promote effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

10+ years of experience in airframe structural design and analysis.

10+ years of experience designing metallic and/or composite aerospace structures.

10+ years of experience using CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX).

Strong understanding of aerospace design principles, manufacturing processes, and system integration.

Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Experience supporting manufacturing, production operations, and design-for-manufacturing initiatives.

Experience coordinating engineering activities with suppliers and external customers.

Experience supporting Material Review Board (MRB) processes and nonconformance resolution.

Experience performing hand stress analysis and structural evaluations.

Experience supporting advanced aerospace, flight vehicle, or high-speed aerospace system development.

Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor engineers.
